The Overall Design of Engraving Robot Workstation

  The engraving robot workstation consists of a 6-DOF industrial robot KUKA KR16 in series, a double-axis positioner, a engraving electric spindle, a fixture, a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) , a Programmable Logic Controller, a safety fence, a dust removal device and an alarm device, etc. , as shown in Figure 1. Through Resolver-to-Digital Converter (RDC) , the robot control cabinet is connected with six axes of the industrial robot and two axes of the positioner to realize precise position control and provide power to the robot, the robot system is composed of eight-axis linkage. PLC as the main station of workstation, through Profinet and control cabinet connection. The operating table is a man-machine interactive touch screen, which controls the starting and stopping of the workstation and carves the working state of the electric spindle, the safety fence and the dust removal device by communicating with PLC.. The jig is fixed on the workpiece disc of the biaxial positioner, and can hold the embryo material in a certain size range, so it has certain adaptability. The engraving electric spindle is mounted on the robot's end flange. The industrial robot KUKA KR16 has moderate working range, powerful driving ability and high precision position control function, and ensures good dynamic characteristics. The positioner with l-shaped Double-axis structure not only ensures the effective working range of the robot, but also maximizes the flexibility of the robot. For different occasions, according to the carving material and size selection of the corresponding model of the robot to adapt to the load and size requirements. The workstation robot is installed on the ground and can be adopted according to the need.
