Recently, the custom 6-axis milling robot arm independently designed by ARTECH CNC COMPANY for an overseas sculpture processing client has finished comprehensive factory commissioning and carving test runs in our production workshop. The customer’s technical team witnessed the whole testing process on site and fully recognized the machine’s precision, stable operation and customized adaptability.

The customer specializes in stone figure sculptures, large foam landscape models and architectural relief processing. Their original 3-axis carving machines suffered from obvious drawbacks including blind machining areas, poor restoration of curved details and complicated material switching setup. After receiving the client’s production demands, ARTECH CNC set up a dedicated R&D team to finish tailor-made design based on the workpiece size, dual-material processing conditions (stone & foam) and workshop layout. We optimized robot arm reach, high-speed carving spindle structure and linkage control system, together with a matched rotary worktable to realize 360° all-round 3D milling without dead angles.

During factory commissioning, our technical engineers completed five core testing procedures: robot base calibration, servo parameter matching, carving path simulation, continuous no-load operation and physical sample trial carving. Multiple batches of samples were processed with high-density foam blanks and natural stone raw materials. The machine maintained stable repeat positioning accuracy, perfectly restored complex details such as curved textures, human facial features and relief patterns, and ran continuously for long hours without shaking or tool breakage. The customer compared finished samples and production efficiency on site, finding the customized robot arm boosts productivity by over 40% and largely cuts manual flipping procedures.

The client’s technical director commented that this customized machine fully matches their diversified sculpture production business. The high precision and flexible machining performance displayed during factory testing exceeded expectations, thoroughly solving processing difficulties of irregular 3D models. They look forward to mass production after equipment delivery and installation.
