ARTECH CNC Unveils Custom Robotic Grinding & Polishing Workcell

ARTECH CNC Company has developed a bespoke robotic grinding workcell for automated cabinet component finishing, combining rotary indexing positioning, 6-axis robot machining and full safety protection.

This robotic grinding cell adopts a dual-station rotary table design. Operators safely load workpieces behind the light curtain. The rotary table rotates 180° to switch stations, and uses locating pins for precise centering. The turntable supports 45° step indexing, and a slim top clamping mechanism secures the workpiece without blocking the machining area.

Equipped with a 6-axis industrial robot fitted with grinding and polishing end tools, the system can automatically grind and polish all outer surfaces and inner cavities of cabinet parts in one setup. The workstation is enclosed by safety mesh fencing with interlocked access doors and safety light curtains at the loading port, protecting operators during automatic operation.

The cell realizes parallel loading and processing. While the robot finishes one workpiece, the operator can safely load the next part, greatly improving production efficiency. This solution eliminates manual grinding inconsistency, reduces labor costs and delivers stable surface quality.
