ARTECH CNC Delivers Custom Milling Robot Arm with Rotary Turntable, Winning Full Recognition from Clients

Recently, the custom milling robot arm integrated with a rotary turntable, independently designed and manufactured by ARTECH CNC Company, has passed factory inspection and on-site commissioning, and been officially delivered to a customer specializing in 3D special-shaped carving. After being put into production, the equipment delivers outstanding performance in machining accuracy, automation efficiency and multi-material compatibility, and has won high praise after comprehensive acceptance by the customer’s technical team.

The customer is engaged in the processing of solid wood sculptures, foam molds and landscape ornaments. Its original equipment required repeated manual clamping of workpieces, leaving blind spots during multi-surface machining. The complex procedures led to inconsistent dimensional accuracy of finished products, along with high labor and time costs. During pre-sales communication, the customer put forward three core requirements: 360° all-round milling in a single clamping, stable micron-level machining accuracy, and compatibility with a variety of light soft materials.

To address the customer’s production pain points, the R&D team of ARTECH CNC optimized the linkage structure of the whole machine, and equipped the milling robot arm with a high-load direct-drive rotary turntable to realize coordinated operation of the multi-axis robot arm and continuously rotating turntable. Workpieces only need one-time positioning to complete all processing procedures including relief carving, curved contours and 3D modeling. The positioning error of the turntable is controlled at the micron level, which greatly reduces the precision deviation caused by repeated clamping. The equipment is compatible with all common processing materials such as solid wood, EPS foam, resin and light stone.

Before delivery, the equipment completed a 72-hour non-stop load cutting test, and mass carving tests were carried out using the customer’s regular workpieces. Compared with the original equipment, the overall machining efficiency is increased by more than 35%. The curved surfaces of finished products are smooth and burr-free, and the dimensional tolerances of batch workpieces are uniformly controllable. At the acceptance site, the customer’s technicians operated the whole process of programming, continuous machining and finished product inspection, and checked core indicators item by item, including turntable rotation accuracy, stable operation of the robot arm, and user-friendliness of the control system.
